Wayne Rooney linked with move to Chinese Super League as cashed-up championship chases superstars

WAYNE Rooney’s time at Manchester United may be drawing to a close.
The Sun is reporting that England’s record goal-scorer has been approached to become a marquee signing for the cashed-up Chinese Super League in a bid to boost the profile of the sport.
Rooney has more than three years left on his contract at Old Trafford but may be tempted by the huge sums on offer from an Asian game that recently signed a TV deal worth $1.7 billion.
The pursuit of Rooney is designed to lure other global superstars into playing in the league.
Rooney’s former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson works in China as coach of Shanghai SIPG F.C.
Former EPL stars Robinho, Tim Cahill, Demba Ba and Momo Sissoko are all playing in China.
